South Africa has been hit by a flare-up of xenophobic attacks in its greatest city, drawing in criticism from other African countries in the week after week political and business pioneers from about 28 countries gather in Cape Town.
Preceding 1994, foreigners from somewhere else confronted segregation and even brutality in South Africa. After the greater part rule in 1994, in spite of desires, the rate of xenophobia increased. Between 2000 and March 2008, in any event, 67 people died in what was tagged as xenophobic attacks.
A spate of Xenophobia attacks that broke out in rural areas south of Johannesburg’s downtown area on Sunday and spread to the focal business region on Monday saw the devastation of more than 50 mainly foreign-owned shops and business premises. Vehicles and properties were burnt and widespread looting took place.
South Africans have been assaulting Nigerians and different outsiders in their country. Presently some new recordings have risen where South Africans were seen searching for foreigners to attack them. It’s extremely disgraceful.
However, some Nigerian politicians, including former presidential election candidate Oby Ezekwesili have called for stronger intervention by the government of President Buhari.
Dear President @CyrilRamaphosa and @GovernmentZA , the maiming and killing of citizens of Nigeria and other African countries in South Africa dishonors everything our collective fight for freedom was about. Even as children in Primary School, we played our part. Please STOP IT.

Dear President @MBuhari and @NigeriaGov , it is time to take decisive actions to protect our Citizens in South Africa. The maiming and killings have gone on for too long without effective response. The bilateral relations with South Africa is troubled. It is time to be CANDID.
