American golf legend, Tiger Woods lost $9m to Phil Mickelson in an exhibition match, as he sank a four-foot birdie putt on the fourth additional gap to beat Woods.

Mickelson and Woods competed for more than 22 rounds of match-play golf before a welcome just exhibition of 700 individuals at the Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas. Mickelson secured the victory with a short putt after Woods’ tee shot arrived on the green but he left his six-foot birdie putt short.

Mickelson had a few putts to win prior in the match that neglected to drop, however, he committed no error on the last go at the standard three, 93-yard opening for the victor take-all triumph. The match kept going five hours and completed in murkiness as organizers needed to utilize surge lights to enlighten the green on the final hole.

While both the 48-year-old Mickelson and the 42-year-old Woods have passed their prime, Friday’s game between the 19-time real winners still gave some entertaining golf.
