My attention has been drawn to the allegations of rape made against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo by Mrs Busola Dakolo. These are, no doubt, serious allegations. Rape is a crime and I say a firm NO to rape.
As Christians, it is only appropriate for us to seek for truth, justice, healing, and restoration for all involved. The Bible instructs us to do this with humility (Galatians 6:1).
While these are still allegations, I emphatise with Mrs Dakolo and everyone that has been affected, and I pray God’s peace for them at this time.
Though the allegations have been refuted, I hope there will be a process, legal or counseling, to establish the truth in these circumstances.
Reacting to his post, One of his followers on Instagram @victororjiprophecy had this to say:
I honour You so much Pastor Sam and respect your views highly on kingdom issues. However, I humbly feel that your view on this subject would have been more honourable if You had given some scriptures as You have always done when dealing with other issues of our kingdom.
Apostle Paul warned Timothy NOT TO ACCEPT ACCUSATION AGAINST AN ELDER WITHOUT TWO OR THREE WITNESSES. It’s Pastor Biodun today and it could be You tomorrow and then Pastor Ibiyeomie the day after and so we need to seize this opportunity to settle how we respond to sensitive issues such as this.
I’ve been privileged to counsel many rape victims and it’s certainly one of the worst crimes against humanity. In fact, every case of rape in scriptures was visited with death, except one, Joseph who was falsely accused despite the fact that there was an evidence of his outter garment.
Who would have believed that a slave was innocent of such crime against a royal celebrity like Mrs Potiphar, the wife of CSO to the leader of the most powerful nation at that time. I write from a position of a caregiver to many rape victims and as one who was falsely accused of rape during my university days and was expelled by the VC without fair hearing.
However, God intervened on my behalf and all those who participated in the ugly blackmail to ruin my high profile evangelistic activity in helping cultists find Christ were disgraced. It was a long walk to freedom as the so called rape victim only confessed openly that the entire story was false which was a script she acted for high profile individuals that felt I was becoming “too powerful” for their comfort.
Like Joseph of Old, God turned that evil for my good and even gave me favour before the state govt to reach out to many more people with my evangelistic project. Finally, we should understand the current global trend, esp since the emergence of Trump as President of US.
It has now become a celebrity status thing to claim to have been raped by a high profile leader. Again, this is very worrisome and only serves to make real rape victims to be further stigmatised. The both parties in this case are in my prayers and I pray for swift divine justice and judgement. Thanks
