A church minister identified as Rev. Peter Adegoke Adewuyi who happens o be a priest in a Methodist Church has been captured by the Ekiti State Police Command for faking his own kidnap and wanting to collect ransom from church members.
According to reports, The priest was arrested alongside one Sunday Oluwadare Adewole who aided in making calls to his church members to request for a ransom.
The report also says the minister, 31 was lodging in Ado-Ekiti from ago from the public. He and his accomplices worked from the fort where they made calls to individuals from his church members to pay to emancipate for his discharge.
A total sum of N3million was demanded as ransom before he could regain his freedom, his church members were thrown into confusion and raising cash to free him.
His plan got busted by the police who arrested the holder of the telephone with GSM Number: 09078589516, with which the N3 million payment was being requested.
The priest was later then tracked to a location near First Bank in Okeyinmi area of Ado Ekiti, where he went to pick the money. The two suspects are presently being detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of the State Police Headquarters.
