Rohr’s Big Risk Pays off as Super Eagles Thrash South Africa 2-1

Nigerian and Super Eagles’ head coach Gernot Rohr yesterday took a big risk with his team after he played Samuel Chukwueze ahead of Moses Simon and dropping Ola Aina for Jamiu Collins as Nigeria qualify for the semi-finals of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after thrashing the South Africa 2-1 on Wednesday night.

Nigeria moved into the AFCON 2019 semi-last stage to the detriment of Bafana after they secure a win over the South African with goals from Samuel Chukwueze and William Troost-Ekong.

However, Ex-Super Eagles player, Mutiu Adepoju reacting to Super Eagles 2-1 win over South Africa, told the team what to expect next game in the semi-finals.

“I want to commend the team for a job well done; we are moving on gradually.

“It was a good match; we controlled the game and we won at the end, despite some nervy moments, ”

“The semi final match will be very tough regardless of who we play. We must also train for penalties because at this stage, anything can happen,” he said
